Employer Surgery Benefit
Lantern (formerly SurgeryPlus) is an employer-sponsored benefit that gives eligible employees access to high-quality bariatric surgery at little or no out-of-pocket cost. Dr. Korman is an in-network Lantern provider serving patients throughout the Los Angeles area.
How Lantern Works
Lantern is a specialty care platform that contracts directly with employers to provide their employees access to vetted, high-quality surgeons for bariatric and other procedures.
Instead of routing care through traditional insurance, employers add Lantern as a supplemental benefit. Lantern then handles everything: connecting you with an approved surgeon, coordinating your appointments and medical records, with zero out of pocket expenses.
Dr. Korman has been credentialed by Lantern and is an approved provider in their network. If your employer is partnered with Lantern, you can choose Dr. Korman as your surgeon.

How to Access Your Lantern Benefit

Verify your coverage
Log in to your employee benefits portal or call your HR department and ask if Lantern is included in your plan. You can also call our office and we will verify it with you directly.

Connect with a Lantern Care Advocate
Once your eligibility is confirmed, you will be assigned a dedicated Care Advocate who coordinates your entire experience from your first appointment through recovery.

Schedule your consultation with Dr. Korman
Meet with Dr. Korman to review your health history, discuss your goals, and determine which procedure is right for you.

Complete any pre-op requirements
Your Care Advocate will walk you through any preparation steps required by your specific plan before surgery is scheduled.

Dr. Korman performs bariatric surgery
Proceed knowing your surgery is covered, your travel is coordinated if needed, and your care team is with you every step of the way.
